There are two (2) major elements in the email advertising specialties field - the Subject line and the actual ad (or email body) itself.

Subject Lines: GET THE READER TO OPEN YOUR EMAIL!

Consider this - most people are in a hurry. They only have limited time and sometimes they are 'on a mission.' Their mission might be to gather up enough credits to send their own ads out in what ever program they have joined. Key to subject lines is grabbing the readers attention in such a way as they WANT to open that email and find out more.

The Body Counts: GET THEM TO YOUR SITE!

Ok - yeah!! Someone opened your email. Now you want to inform and intrigue them to take the NEXT STEP - go to your website and join or purchase or both. This is rather tricky...you want to give them enough information to excite them and give them confidence enough to go to the next step but not OVER inform them either. Again, as mentioned above: most people are in a hurry. If they have to read a long email to get to the point chances are they won't.

AVOID SPAM WORDS....

MLM, free, opportunity, money even the words now and check are considered SPAM words. Many email services will completely block your emails from reaching the readers inbox if you use these. Spam Genius is a desktop program you can use to test your ad copy for spam words. The link below is the download zip file. Once unzipped, it places a useful program that will check your email copy for unacceptable words and will even auto correct for you:
