This venue supports an image and a link. On these sites members - both free and Premium - join the sites and then place icons on spots (called Pixels) with links embedded in the image on the page. Those links are 'visible' and recorded by the Search Engines just as in any other page that contains links.

Word Links are a permanent link board similar to Pixel Pages. Instead of an image however your link is embedded in a word. In particular, a Search Engine Keyword like Free, Max GXL, Glutathione, etc.
Another type of Permanent Link board (although sometimes these are only temporary) is the Classified Ad board. This venue supports a title, short text and a link. Some of them support key words. There are probably hundreds of thousands if not millions of these type of venues on the Internet. They are very similar in nature to the Classified Ad section of your local, regional or National newspapers or magazines or other offline print mediums. Some offer free postings or services, most you pay for.
These fall under Link Marketing as the links or urls you post are permanent and seen by the Search Engines - whether or not a human ever sees your posting or not. Some also fall under Email Marketing as some boards also have that feature - usually for the upgraded members as a paid service. Like their off-line counterparts, on-line Classifieds sites range in reach (memberships or readers) from a handful to thousands.
Some Classified Ad boards list their sites with the FFA services so oftentimes when submitting your link using venues like Blastomatic you oftentimes send your link to classified boards as well as the traditional FFA board. Classified ad boards can be temporary or permanent or something inbetween.
These venues support an expanded text (almost like email) and your link. They can sometimes be temporary in nature, all depends on how active the individual board is.
