Xtream Global Introduction to Internet Advertising and Online Marketing
Greetings to the
Your WinOffice team and webinar attendees. My name is Cherie Halliday from Xtream Global and this session we will be discussing an Introduction to Advertising and Marketing on the Internet. Before we do, let me introduce Xtream Global to you:
Mission Statement:
Xtream Global is dedicated to providing internet advertising specialities and webinar online marketing training for everyone from the beginner with computer basic skills to the most computer savvy online marketer
The Vision Statement is: The Dream - The Team - The System - The Support
Our Moto is: Work Smarter ~ Not Harder
History:
We began Xtream in 2003 by marketing other people's venues and was really quite successful in some areas, in particular traffic exchanges. In 2004, we started our company with one traffic exchange, and quickly added other venues like a safelist and some other items. Before long we had added dozens of online marketing venues of all types to our company network.
In 2005 we meet up with a small core of talented individuals who ran a customer service and training Conference Room webinar type like room who were called Moderators. This added an entirely new dimension to the over all Xtream Dream. We then expanded the venues themselves by Networking with other Online service providers as well as the role of those same Moderators until today Xtream has become a turn key system for anyone wanting to do business on the internet. What is really awesome is that many of our own members have become owners and admins of venues and Network providers themselves offering many types of internet advertising specialties. Their services include not only the traditional marketing venues which we will discuss today but also downline building venues, hosting and domain services as well as technical support and scripts.
The core group of Moderators have evolved into the Xtream Professionals who manage programs, teach, share knowledge and experiences, write tutorials, build webpages, create graphics and images, edit newsletters and even mix sound for the audio. Many of them now own and manage their own networks which they have integrated into Xtream. We also attract other Network Managers who integrate into the Xtream System as well. So whether you simply need advertising tools to promote your affiliate program - like the Wealth Information Network, or want to establish your own internet presence and business - Xtream has what you need. As a company we excel in a couple areas:
Strength 1:
One of our strengths is moving sites up in the Search Engines. We have members who consistenly keep their sites up in the top 10 of Google, for example, in chosen keywords. In fact if you look at words like Internet Advertising Specialties, maxliferesearch, max gxl, ethos for earth, and my netaudioads - you will see many of our member's sites nicely positioned all over the top 30 spots.
Strenth 2:
We also have members who, again using our Xtream tools and methodology, consistently run very successful email marketing campaigns that result in a steady stream of sign ups to their venues month in, month out. And if YOU don't know how to push a site up in the Engines or how to run a productive email advertising campaign, we have a talented group of Professionals who DO and will assist you in duplicating what they do. So, when you become Xtream - you get not just resources but an entire team genuinely interested in helping you succeed.
This session we will be discussing....
an Introduction into Internet Advertising and Online Marketing
Introduction:
Advertising and Marketing are oftentimes words that are used interchangeably. In the most basic sense of those words, advertising is simply getting the word out to others about your business, opportunity, goods and services. Online advertising involves using the Internet to get the word out.
Offline, you have many different ways to advertise and there are specialty venues or resources which help you do just that. For example, if you need business cards there are printers who make those for you - or you can buy the program and card stock to make your own. Same with flyers. You then have newspapers, shoppers, trade publications and magazines in which you can run everything from short classified ads up to full page display ads or even stand alone sections. Then, there is radio, television and cable advertising.
Online, you have many ways to advertise as well - the main challenge is sometimes finding those internet advertising specialties which help you market online and then learning how they work. This is what Xtream Global has providing its members and affiliates in since 2003 - their own
internet advertising venues which help you advertise online. We then network with other providers, find effective marketing tools, and then share information on how to best use those tools and venues with others through our
Xtream Marketing Resource Center and in our
Live, Interactive webinars.
We also help members create successful marketing strategies to build downlines, their business as well as their presence on the Internet itself. For example, all of you here are involved in or considering becoming involved with Win-Office. This means you each have a business with Win-Office, an affiliate program you want to advertise in order to bring other people into this program. Xtream has been assisting people just like you do just that for several years. We begin by defining Internet Advertising then put some tools in your hands to get started marketing online.
Two Major Categories:
When you get right down to it - Internet Advertising is pretty much divided into two distinct categories with each category. One category is called
Email Marketing, the other
Link or Search Engine Advertising. Each major type of marketing has unique venues which people for specific functions. As we go along in this session, it is important to keep that point in your mind. There are some venues which work ONLY as an email marketing resource, others as ONLY a link marketing resource and some that serve double duty. It is crucial that you always understand what it is exactly a given resource, site or tool is supposed to do for you. This helps avoid misunderstandings and disappointments.
The first category we will discuss briefly today is
Email marketing involves getting ads into people’s inboxes. Most of us are familiar with SPAM - unwanted advertising. That is the wrong way to go about email marketing. There is a huge, healthy and thriving industry on the internet that involves Permission Based email marketing and that is what Xtream supports by providing venues ourselves and through networking with other providers. We then work in live Webinars to show people the venues, how to use them, even hold sessions on writing ad copy and developing strategies for successful email ad campaigns.
Some of the resources we use are Safelists, safelist submitters, pro ffa sites, safeadlists, and groups or ezines - like the Yahoo Groups. All of these venues are what is called double opt-in and are permission based tools. A person must join the site and agree to receive email from both the Admin as well as other members of the site in order for them to send their own ads.
A Safelist is an email marketing venue which you opt-in and then can send your ad to the other members based upon your membership level.
Safelist submitters are programs which house many safelists in it’s database. You join those safelists using the submitter and can then auto send your ads to those lists using the submitter instead of having to do it yourself.
A Pro FFA membership functions on the same principle as a safelist. The main difference is that the people who you send your ads to are those who POSTED their links to the FFA board. FFA stands for free for all and we will discuss that venue in the Link Marketing section.
Safeadlists and Master Safeadlists are email-style venues in which the main emails do not go into people’s inbox at all. Rather, the ads are shown on a board and a rotator. Most of them do have what are called solo ad features which deliver ads to the member’s inboxes.
A Group, like the well known
Yahoo Groups, is oftentimes referred to as an
Ezine. Groups were actually the first type of Safelist which also featured a very useful link board feature - and that leads us to the next major category
Link marketing primarily involves getting your website visible in the Search Engines. To do this, you need specific tools and resources. As you advance in Link Marketing you then discover you also need certain items of your own - especially a domain or two and then some marketing websites which attract the Search Engines.
Most of you have probably done a search on the internet before. You enter a word or phrase in your browser, and then a series of results come back listing sites in order of 1 to … whatever. You will also sometimes see sites listed at the top of the page, down the side and at the bottom as Sponsor Links or ads. Those you buy. The others, the 1 through 10 and beyond, you can boost up the engines yourself. This has been one of Xtream’s niches for a couple years - helping members obtain good placement in the engines in chosen key words. Xtream has and networks with a number of very effective and proven resources combined with a methodology that simply works. We have a team of Professionals who share that methodology as well as show you the various things you need to obtain good Search Engine presence. We run several live webinars every week just on Search Engine marketing and SEO (search engine optimization.)
The key to success in driving your sites up in the Search Engines is understanding what it is exactly a Search Engine likes. A couple of things Engines like - and record - are
links and
traffic.
Some of the marketing tools we embrace are FFA blasters, Alexa Rank Enhancer, Classified Ad boards, Pixel pages and traffic exchanges. We also show people how to use blogs and forums as well as their own splash pages to advertise their programs online.
As mentioned earlier,
FFA stands for Free For All and is a type of link board. The key to success with ffa postings is to post to A LOT of boards frequently - which means
FFA Adblasters. Xtream provides a useful
Auto FFA desktop Adblaster to the Affiliate members as well as lists a number of large networks to use. The key to success in using this type of venue is to post often and, most important, to use key words in your Subject Line and description - something we discuss how to do in session.
Classified ad boards are venues in which you can post your link along with a subject line and short ad copy. As in FFA postings, key to success is tying in your targeted keywords in with your link.
Pixel pages are pure links only venue that marry your link with a small image (or pixel.)
1. Show your website to the members.
2. Send hits, or traffic, to your website.
There are two different types of Traffic Exchange: the auto surf and the manual surf with some venues supporting both types of surf. Each type of surf serves a distinct purpose and both are useful in your overall marketing plan.
Wrap up:
Hopefully by now you are starting to see the larger picture when it comes to Internet Advertising:
1. There are two major ways in which to market.
2. Each category has very specific venues designed to help you advertise.
3. The savvy Internet Marketer will build a portfolio that has all types of tools and resources - in other words they will not rely solely on one type of marketing or one type of tool. Most successful marketers will tell you the use a combination of tools and resources - and that the do both email marketing as well as link marketing. They also use as many auto tools as possible to keep their ads and sites constantly posted, as well as spending some time every day doing some manual marketing. They will send email ads out as well as post links to ffa and classified ad boards. They become involved in other venues as well - marketing communities, down line builders and other specialized programs designed specifically for the Internet user. That of course is a topic for another time!
